Why do Massage Therapists and other bodywork professionals tell you to drink water after a massage?
Many believe that it has to do with massage releasing toxins from your muscles and then by drinking water you flush those toxins out of the body, that’s not entirely true.
The simple answer is, you will feel better.
Drinking water will rehydrate the muscles that we worked on, preventing any possible soreness after the massage.
The amount of water someone should drink after a massage is based on each individual person. It is important to listen to your body and it’s needs because it will tell you, you just have to listen. Think about your normal water intake and add a little more.
Long story short, drink up! You won’t regret it!
